Annual Meeting February 24 Seeking Candidates for the BOD
On Monday, February 24th, the Friends of Heybrook Ridge will hold its annual meeting at the River House, from 7 to 9 pm. The public is invited to come (as is true of every FOHR board meeting).
Highlights of the event will be a report on the progress at Heybrook Ridge County Park by Senior Parks Planner Chris Mueller, and an election to the organization’s Board of Directors. Chris will update us on FOHR’s donation of the “Fernald 9.9 acres” parcel to the Park, and on trail building plans for the Park. Public input is welcomed.
There are 8 positions on the 12-member BOD whose terms of office are complete or open, and FOHR members will vote on the candidates that night. (Annual membership is February through January, and anyone who donates money, goods, or services to FOHR is a member.) We encourage EVERYONE interested to nominate worthy candidates, including themselves. Nominations can be accepted on the night of the meeting, and each candidate (including current members of the Board who are running for re-election) will be asked to speak briefly and informally about why they want to be on the Board. Snacks and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided by FOHR; alcoholic drinks can be purchased from the River House.
Please come on February 24th!
